First junior place @ Malibu days

Today I participated at the famous Malibu contest. 44 participants and I ended up first with the juniors!! Big fun as usual but still very tiring!! And of course a nice party..

Two weeks ago they called me up for an interview in Joepie. A weekly sensation magazine (about famous people!??) for youngsters.

Poster Malibu
On my way back home this afternoon I passed the Chill'out and was quite surprised to notice a picture of myself on a poster hanging at their shop-window.

My picture is on the Malibu flyer as well.

Unfortunatly that competition is on the same date as the Belgium junior championship. That's why I'm hesitating a little bit between these two competitions. Both competitions have freaky nice prices.

I've not been able to kite for a few days now because of back problems. I went to a medcin for a back-check and he took some pictures. Luckily it's nothing really serious (as you can see on the scan) and normally I'll be riding in 2 weeks again.>check pic

Leander, first place pro contest 10/04/07, The Netherlands (Workum)

1st place @ Sticked event!!!
One month ago JN send me a mail and told me I was invated at the Pro-contest 'STICKED' at Workum (Netherlands). The first moment I wasn't really sure if I'd go, because I was likely to go to the 'Mondial Du Vent' at Leaucate (France). Finally I decided to go to the Netherlands.

The first days at the event, the wind was pretty light (for 16.5) so we waited a few days. And it was worth of waiting, cause the last day the wind picked up! It was the first time that I took part to a competition where 'riders judge riders' and in fact, that system worked quite well. My first heats were not that good, but still I advanced, up to the final! In the finals I was really on fire, and I WON!!!>meer
